La Maison Patisserie

An online business located in Medan, Indonesia. It serves cakes, cupcakes, macarons and catering for events. I blogged about it in the past but somehow at that time they just opened so choices are limited but their specialities started from MACARONS. However, this year I managed to try several of their cakes, lucky me? but I was totally disappointed cos I put too much hope on their cakes :( It was so expensive but I believed the $$ worth it, unfortunately, the only good stuff in La Maison Patisserie for me are their Macs only...

For 5 slices of cake and a dozen of Macarons I paid approximately RM114. What you have in mind probably wtf??! you can get a decent whole cake at Secret recipe with changes. I know I know but I thought it was worth it so I regretted terribly. The owner may think that I probably sabotage her business, but I am not please. I'm just giving my honest opinion, can say I help her to recommend some friends to try her pastries too although my own ex-classmate started his pastry shop around the same time as her. All the cakes are below average except Vier & Chocolate Boom

 Rainbow, totally has no quality when La  Maison Patisserie is famous in town. Somehow, the rainbow cake I bought in some non-famous bakery in Jakarta taste so much better than this one :(

 Lucky there are Vier and Chocolate Boom that taste is so good. I prefer Chocolate Boom cos of the dark chocolate used, so satisfied with this, Awesomeness!

Plaisir sucré

 It was average only, but far from my high expectation hmphh

The most terrible ones is the Tiramisu, OMGGG! it was so goodness crazily sweet that I wanted to give to my friend's maid but suck it up cos of the money spent! Eating tiramisu should make you feel orgasm, but somehow no taste of liquor used but only sweetness! This is the one that broke my heart the most, so so so upset!

Once again to La Maison Patisserie Owner,

I do not plan to sabotage/provoke your business but I am just a very upset customer who had put so much hope on your pastries. I hope you can improve if you happen to come across what I blog, although I didn't express my opinion in private to you but publicly, don't be mad, apologise for that :)

Be sure to visit La Maison Patisserie cos I am not giving up on their pastry and suggesting you guys to have a bite on their Macarons, Chocolate Boom and Vier (Thumbs up Teehee!)

A short story of the "PARENTS"

Last week, when I was home, this convo occurred between me and mom that left me speechless.

Little background of the "Dad and Mom" & the "Hometown"

As always, the mother likes to go temple (like seriously the freak auntie who goes to temple a lot), but that is the only place that she finds joy of happiness the most cos all her friends (bunch of men and few women only including her) would joke and tease each other to the core including those dirty-little-talks. I know its like wtf you are in the temple yet you talked those nonsense, of course not those too sensitive la! haha! Let's called it, the "hang-out" place for the elders in my hometown. My hometown quite ulu, no shopping malls no big shops etc, all like small little shops only but it has the best seafood I ever eat, the freshness is so yumz!

As I grow up in this little town, I slightly have the knowledge whether those seafood in the markets are fresh or not. Almost half of my life I spent in M'sia, can say that I do not or never buy seafoods in supermarkets but I do eat from those shops who specialised on such. What I did was, mom cooked from home, frozen it and I bring it over here, whenever, I want to eat seafood, I would defrost those and eat. I know its unhealthy but it's better than I have to buy those which is very $$ and not fresh at all okayy...

Back to the convo between me and mom, one day she asked if I want to accompany her to the temple, so all the thoughts of being the only youngster in the temple is already boring. Plus, I have to act that I'm interested on their talks, pretend to laugh, pretend to have eye-contact and understand what they talked about. Not all the times tho, sometimes I really enjoy their jokes and just laugh with them. At times, when I'm lazy I would kept myself busy with phone on FB, twitter, blog etc. I have to say it clearly, this is not a nightmare at all! On the first day I landed my foots at home, I already accompanied her to the temple. But on the last three days before coming back here, I refused to accompany her cos the half of the day I accompanied her to few temples already. So it happened like this:

Mom: Go and change your clothes now and we go

Me: Aishh don't want la, I'm so lazy to wait for all the talks etc till you are done & we can come home

Mom: The time your mother go to sell salted eggs and when you want to accompany also no chances any more (Sell salted eggs means depart to another world, its a slang in hokkien we used in our family)

Me: SPEECHLESSSSS!!!! Guai guai go change and go with her hehe...

From the day I left home has already been 12 years (3.5 in Medan & 8.5 in here), what I can do when I back home is to accompany dad and mom for brunches, dinners, suppers and some outings (be there for them). At times, I pretend that I understand the talks with dad too cos he is 72 years old now and when he talks, he tends to repeat himself sometimes yet his ability to remember the past stories is two-thumbs up and thank god that he is healthy despite the fact that he does not do check-ups! 

What happened between me and mom, I applied it to my brother too. There was once we were on the phone, I could not remember how we talked about CNY. He did not plan to come home cos tickets are so bloody exp if he was to bring the whole family back. Although last year he made a surprised, read here. 

So this is what I said to him: 

"When your parents sell salted eggs already, you want to come back and celebrate also can not already" *touch woods!! choi choi choi!! I told him that is what your mom said to me when I refused to go out with her one of the days lolol!

All in all, despite the boredom and waitings that I have to face but what really matters is the COMPANION. Life is short, make a meaningful with your loved ones. 

P/S: If you are my relatives and happened to read this entry, please do not spread nonsense to my loved ones :)

Outdated food recap

One evening, we were contemplating ourselves between Make Kelantanese food or Pepper Lunch.

Make totally has no customers, its so obvious either not nice or no marketing strategy or lazy workers! 

So we decided based on our pity-feeling and entered. What we did was to order one dish first to decide the taste, it wasn't that bad but you won't go for the second time. At that time, the chef balik kampung so you could imagine what we had was frozen foods but oh well we ordered more stuff, too lazy to move already..

This is a treat by Reene, an ex-colleague during internship, who was also the person that replied my mails during application etc.. Don't know how we become good friends till today, often meet up like at least once a month just to eat and catch-up. She is doing her ICAEW in Sunway, so not that difficult to meet on weekend :) can't wait for the next catch up teehee!

Back in first or second week of September, had a catch up with A-level friends at Ben's in KLCC 

Haven't seen Qama since KTJ which is 3 years (he teased me a lot back then sigh)

 but for Pui and my Sarawak maid (the botak one :p) was about 2 years.

The food was slightly above average, rate it 3/5. I ordered Caesar Salad, was a bit disappointed cos it finished and the waiter didn't even inform us sobs!

P/S: I might be stress doing assignment eventhough it's a holiday back in hometown

I always have a thing for yakiniku since I had yakiniku beef MOS burger back in 2009, geez 3 years ago. I am dying for MOS burger, Malaysia Y U NO open one! I looked for it in Jakarta, I purposely went to the mall for MOS burger and shit closed shop already (heart breakk arggghh). Not to mention after we knew that info from receptionist, me and bro sprint towards the car before my auntie went into parking and disappeared haha!

Spaghetti & Ham for my Niece IDR33,000. Rating 2/5

Chirashi IDR80,000

I didn't know that the bottom of the Chirashi was rice, till it came :( I was already loaded with so much of things, in the end we didn't finish the rice.

One of the night after dinner, we passed by this dessert shop nearby our apartment, it turns out not that bad and not that pricey as well.
The price range between IDR 15.000 to IDR 25,000 for those we bought.

Can't remember what was the last one.
Overall my food hunting with limited transportation in J town turned out wasn't that bad :)

P/S: atm I'm in Medan preparing for my fren's wedding also eating yumz and fatty foods haha!

If you think those products are fake or whatsoever, you are wrong, its totally 100% AUTHENTIC! You may not trust me but give it a try, buy their cheapest products and check for yourself.

ie. they have mask box, you can choose a combination of masks which they have in their website. Usually if I want to buy mask from Watson or Guardian, I have to get the whole box in one brand. But Hermo provides me with different brands in one box, I like that options :) But I haven't got the chance to buy their mask products yet cos I have so many unused ones :(

Not to mention if you are not satisfy with the products you purchase, they also provide 14 days free return w/o reasons. What else you would want to ask for more. At first I doubted their products, so I did what I said earlier but after few days I went back to Hermo, and purchase other products again! :)

Estee Lauder Perfectly Splash Away Cleanser 30ml & Idealist Skintone Illuminator 7ml @RM54.00 instead of RM78.50

In the website, they also provide instructions to use, I find it very helpful. I may not know what is Idealist Skintone Illuminator for? Although I know this product earlier la.. lol! But seriously, if you don't know what are some products for click on it and you may get the answers :)

Also they provide flash shipping service, awesomeness! Flash shipping means in 2 days after payment made, you can have your products already. I always worry whenever I purchase products online , one reason - I'm not always at home. No one to collect my stuff, so you can let them know when do you prefer to receive your products (I mean at which day not time tho, postman also need a life)

Oh yeah, they update their hot deals everyday. Totally a steal! :)

Let's start with Tous les Jours

Simply Simple Baked Brownies, its just simply perfect, give it a try by clicking on the link. I always prefer original, but the cheesy ones is also thumbs up! worth to try for those in J town or it can be shipped to some places due to the durability ( don't think of preservative ok!) cos brownies meant to eat after few days only taste yumm!

One of the lunch at Pizza Hut in Ancol. After lunch we had a good evening, walking around and its pretty huge, wear slipper/shoes if you plan to go.

For the above picture (the salad), I'm amazed with my 6th aunt skills to grab so much of ingredients in such a small bowl! Unfortunately, I'm not a huge fan of salad except Caesar Salad hehe!

Another evening ended with swimming and enjoy the breeze while waiting for other nieces to finish their cleaning :) So I end up follow my this cute niece to pose, she is such a poser, I declared I'm lost! haha!

While waiting for my brother to check his eyes/looked for homeware stuff, we cam-whore instead haha! So long never have a nice pic with mom, and check out her 'The Rock Eye'. Now I understand where I get all those kind of look whenever I stare at things haha! Many people commented we look alike but I always tease her maybe I was adopted cos I have different type of bloods from everyone else in the Family haha!

The Haagen-dazs failed big times, the one in Central Park. Maybe because of their buy one free one promo for BCA card holders, but still! I'm a huge fans of their ice cream, but lose hope cos of these, melted so fast, they should make it more solid, it was terrible sighh! But I had another sessions in other malls, way better :)

Me, cousin and niece left earlier to hunt for more nice foods, then the rest ordered the ice cream again with complaints! then they got the more solid ice cream sobs! should insist on complaining before I left lolol!

First one: HongKong Cafe

The niece had Spaghetti Cuttlefish Urchin, not nice one, terrible smell cos the cuttlefish not fresh :( The rest of the foods shared by me and the cousin! What we ordered is good, but the spaghetti so so only. Where got people so idiot go to HongKong restaurant ordered Spaghetti, of cos order dimsums mah! haha! There were Hakau @IDR17,500, Siew Mai @IDR16,000, and Chicken feets @IDR13,500.
